Question from Taiwo, a student:

pls could some one help me with this question? thanks as lot

factorize:
(3x+4y)^2 - (2x-y)^2

thank you

Taiwo,

This is a difference of squares

\[a^2 - b^2 = (a - b)(a + b)\]

In your example $a = 3x + 4y$ and $b = 2x - y.$ Apply the difference of squares and simplify.

Penny
