Question from Vivinne, a student:

Three boys, Isaac, Alex and Ken are standing in different parts of a football field.Isaac is standing 100m North of Alex. Ken is 120m East of Alex. Find the compass bearing of Ken from Isaac.

Hi Vivinne.

If you draw this, you will find that you have a right-angled triangle! Since you are given the lengths of the two legs, you can use the "opposite over adjacent" trig function to find the angle involved, then convert it to a compass bearing.

Write back if you need more help with this.

Cheers,
