Question from Kameron, a student:

How do I work this out to find the answer from least to greatest ? 48/8, 12/16, 3/5

Hi Kameron,

In order to compare the value of different fractions, you need to have the same denominator. Observe the following problem; Order the following fractions from least to greatest;
2/3, 3/4, 1/2
By changing the denominator so they are the same, we can see their comparitive value,
2/3 = 8/12, 3/4 =9/12, 1/2 = 6/12,
so we have, 6/12, 8/12, and 9/12

Hope this helps :)
Melanie
