Question from ann, a parent: the fuel tank of jacks car hold 72 litres when full jack uses half a tank of fuel he travels 240 miles how many miles does he cover for each gallon of fuel |
Hi Ann,
The key to this problem is converting Jack's 72 litre gas tank to gallons. To do so I asked Google. I typed 1 lite in gallons into the Google search window and got the response 1 litre = 0.264172052 US gallons. Thus 72 litres is $72 \times 0.264172052$ gallons. On half this many gallons he travelled 240 miles. How far did he travel on 1 gallon?
