Question from ann, a parent:

the fuel tank of jacks car hold 72 litres when full jack uses half a tank of fuel he travels 240 miles how many miles does he cover for each gallon of fuel

Hi Ann,

The key to this problem is converting Jack's 72 litre gas tank to gallons. To do so I asked Google. I typed 1 lite in gallons into the Google search window and got the response 1 litre = 0.264172052 US gallons. Thus 72 litres is $72 \times 0.264172052$ gallons. On half this many gallons he travelled 240 miles. How far did he travel on 1 gallon?
