Question from May, a student:

In triangle ABC, AB=AC, angle A=20,
D lie on AB making DC=AD,
E lie on AC making angle EBC=70.
Find angle DEB.

At first looking at the question, I thought it is a simple question.
Actually it is a real hard one.
I discussed with several tutor and didn't get a help.

Thanks!

Hi May.

Here is a statement and solution of the same problem with a different labeling of two of the points. We found it in EUREKA, 1976 pp 222. The solution, by Harry Schor from Brooklyn, NY, appeared in THE NEW YORK STATE MATHEMATICS TEACHERS' JOURNAL, 1974, pp 173-174, Problem 25.
