Question from Michelle:

Hello. I need help with a math problem please. I have not done this in so long.

This is a 40% margin

360X8%=

Hi Michelle,

Percent means "per one hundred" so $8\%$ is $\frac{8}{100} = 0.08.$ Thus $360 \times 8\% = 360 \times 0.08 = 28.8.$

I don't see how this related to a $40\%$ margin.
