



 
Hi, The key to this problem is that if $k$ is any number then \[\frac{k}{2} = \frac{k}{2} =  \frac{k}{2} =  \frac{1}{2} \times k.\] Hence \[\frac{16 \times 6}{2} =  \frac12 \times 16 \times 6.\] Does this help? Penny
