Hi Robin, Ten percent is ten per every hundred, that is ten percent is $\large \frac{10}{100} = \frac{1}{10} = 0.10.$ Thus ten percent of 24 hours is $0.10 \times 24 = 2.4$ hours. This is probably not the way you would normally say it. You would probably say 2 hours and so many minutes. Each hour has 60 minutes so want is $0.4$ of 60 minutes? Penny |
