plz solve this question..........two trains 245m and 315m long are travelling toward each other at 90km/h and 54km/h respectively on parallel lines . how long do the train take to pass one another train the time they meet each other? note1km/h =5/18 m /s

Tamkeen,

First use the fact that 1 km/hr = 5/18 m/sec to convert the speeds of the trains to meters per second.

Start your clock when the front of the trains are in line with each other.

trains

As time progresses, at what rate are the front of the trains moving away from each other?

trains

How far apart are the front of the trains when the rear of the trains are in line with each other?

trains

How long does it take for the front of the trains to be that far apart?
