Question from Tim:

For a circle of Diameter 12 Mtrs, I have a chord length of 2 Mtrs,
How can i calculate the distance from the middle of the chord to the
perimeter of the circle
Regards
Tim

Hi Tim,

cricle

B is the mid point of the chord so the length of AB is 1 meter. The length of CA is 12 meters. The angle ABC is a right angle (do you see why?) What does Pythagoras Theorem tell you about the length of BC?
