Question from Andrea, a parent: mr karnowski has a stack of 125 sheets of graph paper.He is passing out g sheets to each of his students. What is the expression for the number of sheets he will pass out to the first 5 students? |
Hi Andrea,
He gives $g$ sheets to the first student and $g$ sheets to the second student and so on for 5 students. Thus he has given out
\[g + g + g + g + g = 5 \times g \mbox{ sheets.}\]
Often we would write $5 \times g$ as $5g.$
