Hi Carol, An acre is 43560 square feet. An acre plot of land can be of any shape as long as its area is 43560 square feet. The shape might be a square, a rectangle, a triangle, have 5, or 6 or any number of sides. In fact some of the sides might not even be straight lines. Your plot has 4 sides and if the shape is a square, that is all the sides are the same length and all the angles are right angles, then the length of each side is $\sqrt{43560} = 208.7$ feet long. If the plot is not a square then you need to know much more about the shape before you can determine the side lengths. Harley |
