Question from Graylin, a parent: I am going on a golf trip and we have 16 players and need to know a formula that will allow us to all play together at some point in the 4 rounds we are playing. If not possible please provide best case. Thanks. |
Graylin,
There is a schedule where every pair is together once after 5 rounds. You can find it in the archives (search for golf 16). For four rounds, just use any four of the five days. This is the best possible for 4 rounds. Most pairs are together exactly once (never more than that), but some pairs won't play together.
