28 minutes is very close to half an hour and 6 miles in half an hour would be 12 miles in an hour or 12 miles per hour. Thus your speed is close to 12 miles per hour. In fact you took slightly less that half an hour to go the 6 miles so your speed is slightly larger than 12 miles per hour.

What is it exactly? What fraction of an hour is 28 minutes? You went 6 miles in that fraction of an hour. How far would you go in an hour?
