8 persons are planning to share equally the cost of a rental car.
If 1 person withdraws from the arrangement and the others share
equally the entire cost of the car, then the share of each of the
remaining persons is increased by--------------?

Hi Marilyn,

The initial share of the person who withdraws has to be split equally among the seven others. What fraction of her initial share is passes on to each of the others?
