Question from Qelibar, a student:

Please factorise x^2y^2 - 4

Hi Qelibar,

One of the factoring facts you need to know is how to factor a difference of squares. There is a good explanation of this technique on the Purple Math site. To see that your problem is a difference of squares write $x^2 y^2 = (xy)^2$ and $4 = 2^2$.
