Question from samira, a student: How many 4-digit numbers are there in which the first and last digits are the same? |
Hi Samira,
First choose the digit which will be the first and last digit. You have 9 choices. They are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. You can now choose any two digits for the tens and hundreds digits. How many choices is that?
