Question from Tony, a student:

Ok my question

2 1/4 x 1/8 x 1 3/4 x 12 4/9 x 3

I just can't figure out the question ?

Hi Tony,

You need to first express the mixed numbers as improper fractions. For example, since $ 2 = \large \frac84$ you can write 2 1/4 as $\large \frac84 + \frac14 = \frac94.$ Convert the other two mixed numbers to improper fractions.

Can you see how to complete the problem now?

Write back if you need more help,
Penny
