Question from Alex, a student:

Hi there,i got problem with order of operation. Can you please help to find a solution for this?Thank u beforehand
6-3(7+2)+(2+4)/3-4.

Hi Alex,

You need to perform the operations inside the parentheses first. Thus I get

6-3(7+2)+(2+4)/3-4 = 6-3(9)+(6)/3-4.

3 times 9 is 27 and 6 divide by 3 is 2 so this becomes

6 - 27 + 2 - 4.

Finally operate from left to right.

Penny
