Question from bianco, a student:

2/3+3/4=
9/8-6/8=

Hi,

To add or subtract fractions you need their denominators to be equal. The denominators in your second problem are equal and hence

\[\frac98 - \frac68 = \frac{9 - 6}{8} = \frac38.\]

For your first problem you will need to find a common denominator.
