I'm not sure if you mean

\[\frac15 n = -9\]

or

\[\frac{1}{5n} = -9\]

but what I am going to suggest should work in either case.

Multiply each side of the equation by the denominator of the fraction and simplify. This will give you an equation with no fractions which you can solve for $n.$
