Question from Donna:

If I have property that is rectangle shaped. I know the ends are 100 feet how many feet would the sides be to make 5.4 acres

Hi Donna,

An acre is $43,560$ square feet so $5.4$ acres is $43,560 \times 5.4$ square feet. The area of a rectangle is its length times its width so if your property is a rectangle then

\[\mbox{length } \times 100 = 43,560 \times 5.4\]

or

\[\mbox{ length } = \frac{43,560 \times 5.4}{100} \mbox{feet.}\]

This is over 23 million feet. Are you sure your numbers are correct?
