Question from Gary:

a cord of wood is 4 feet by 4 feet by 8 feet, how much wood is a row that is 16 in by 5 foot by 32 feet?

Hi Gary,

The volume of wood in a cord is $4 \times 4 \times 8 = 128$ cubic feet. Also $16$ inches is $\large \frac{16}{12}$ feet. What is the volume in cubic feet of a pile of wood that is $\large \frac{16}{12}$ feet by 5 feet by 32 feet? How many cords is that?
