Question from Joakim, a parent:

2 cars driving towards each other, the distance between them is 162km. they meet after 2 hours. car A is driving with 4/5 of car B´s speed. what is the speed of each car...

Hi Joakim,

I can help get you started.

Think about the distance between the two cars. It goes from 162 km to 0 km in 2 hours so the distance between the cars is decreasing at a rate of $\large \frac{162}{2} \normalsize = 81 \mbox{ km/hr.}$

Can you complete the problem now? Write back if you need more assistance.
