How to find value of n in this equation :

n log n = 36 * 10 ^ 12

Hi Shihab,

Unfortunately there is no nice algebraic solution, the best you can do is approximate the solution. You can use Newton's method for this. To learn about Newton's method go to the Quandaries and Queries page on Math Central and use the Quick Search to search for the term newton's method. If you just want a numerical answer you can go to WolframAlpha and type in solve n log n = 36 * 10 ^ 12.
