Question from shivam, a student:

a parallelogram has sides 34 cm and 20 cm .one of its diagonal is 42 cm. calculate its area

Hi,

The diagonal partitions the parallelogram into two congruent triangles and you know the lengths of the sides of the triangles. Look at our response to an earlier question to two ways to find the area of a triangle if you know the lengths of its sides.
