Question from Stewart:

How to rotate 14 golfers in two person teams without duplication until all have been paired at least once. Play is once per week.

Stewart,

Each week you will have 7 two person teams. There are 91 possible teams, so it will take 13 weeks.

You can put the teams together like this: Number the golfers 0, 1, 2, ..., 12, and then X.
In week 1, the pairs are X 0, 12 1, 11 2, 10 3, 9 4, 8 5, 7 6.

To get the each subsequent week, add 1 to every player number except X, and wrap 12 + 1 around to 0, like an odometer. If you do that then
Week 2: X 1, 0 2, 12 3, 11 4, 10 5, 9 6, 8 7
Week 3: X 2, 1 3, 0 4, 12 5, 11 6, 10 7, 9 8

and so on.

You don't ask anything about how the players are arranged in groups. To go 4-4-4-2 you can just form groups out of the teams. To go 4-4-3-3 you will need to break up one pair each week, and then reember to pich them up on a later week. That will make the schedule a few weeks longer.
