Question from Jaqui, a student:

May sound super easy, but how would you SHOW that you simplified
3x3 to the power of 2 (the little 2)?

thank you!

Jaqui

Hi Jaqui,

The mathematical notation $3^2$ is just a shorthand way of saying $3 \times 3.$ It is a convention that is used by mathematicians and there is nothing to show.
