Question from meha, a student:

Find two consecutive positive integers , sum of whose squares is 365.

Hi Meha,

Since the subject line of your email was "maths- quadratic equation" I think you are expected to use a quadratic equation to find the answer. To do this let $n$ be the smaller of the two integers and then the larger integer is $n + 1.$ Square both of $n$ and $n + 1,$ add the squares together and set the sum to 365. Simplify and solve the resulting quadratic equation.
