Math CentralQuandaries & Queries

Question from Paul:

I have a party of 20 golfers playing four rounds in fourballs. I realise that everyone will have 7 players that they do not play with, however I want to ensure that no one plays with the same
person twice and that the Captain plays with the 12 players of his choice.

Hi Paul,

I think this schedule works:

Once the foursomes are known, number the players so that the Captain is grouped with the ones he wants to play with.
