Question from pheter, a student:

4/x - 1/y = 3 .... equation (1)
6/x - 2/y = 5 .... equation (2)

Hi,

Rewrite the equations as

\[4 \times \frac{1}{x} - 1 \times \frac{1}{y} = 3\]

and

\[6 \times \frac{1}{x} - 2 \times \frac{1}{y} = 5.\]

Now substitute $s = \frac{1}{x}, t = \frac{1}{y}$ and solve for $s$ and $t.$
