Question from Richard, a parent:

If I have a bag that covers. 8cubic ft how many bags are in 2.65 cubic yards?

Hi Richard,

A cubic yard is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet so a cubic yard is $3 \times 3 \times 3 = 27$ cubic feet. Thus 2.56 cubic yards is $2.56 \times 27$ cubic feet. One bag covers 8 cubic feet so if the depth remains the same you will need

\[\frac{2.56 \times 27}{8} = 8.64 \mbox{ bags.}\]
