Hi Ronaldo, I assume that order is not important, that is RRC5 and RR5C and CR5R are all the same hand. A hand is composed of 4 cards and there are 8 different types of card. How many hands are there with all 4 cards of the same kind? How many hands are there with 3 cards of the same card and one card different from the other 3? How many hands are there with two cards of the same kind and the remaining cards different from the matching 2 and different from each other? How many hands are there with two cards of the same kind and the remaining 2 cards matching but different from the first 2 matching cards? How many hands are there with 4 cards of different kinds? Try the problem this way. Write back if you get stuck and tell us what you have done. Penny | |||||||||||||||
