Question from Shirley, a parent:

What is the perimeter of a parcel of land that is 564 acres square

The area is 564 acres and there are 43560 square feet in an acre so the area is $43560 \times 564 = 24,567,840$ square feet.

The answer to your question depends on the shape of the parcel of land. If the shape is a SQUARE and the length of each side is $x$ feet then $x^2 = 24,567,840$ square feet and thus $x = 4,856.6$ feet. Hence the perimeter is $4 \times x$ feet.

I hope this helps,
Penny
