Question from chelsey, a student:

I am unsure on how to solve this problem, 600(1+0.05) 7 ?

Hi Chelsey,

Do you mean

\[600 \left( 1+0.05 \right)^{7}?\]

If so then $1 + 00.5 = 1.05$ and hence

\[600 \left( 1+0.05 \right)^{7} = 600 \left( 1.05 \right)^{7}.\]

Use your calculator to calculate

\[\left( 1.05 \right)^7 = 1.05 \times 1.05 \times 1.05 \times 1.05 \times 1.05 \times 1.05 \times 1.05 \]

and then multiply the result by 600.

I hope this helps,
Penny
