Question from Ed: I have 5 teams and 2 courts. Every Thursday we play at four different times (6,7,8,9 o clock) Each team will play each other 5 times over 25 weeks. Everyone should get to play evenly at the best time (6:00) and the worst time (9:00) |
Ed,
It looks to me as if you use the following schedule then all players play equally at each time.
Week 1: groups 1, 2, 3, 4 at 6, 7, 8, 9, respectively
Week 2: groups 2, 3, 4, 1 at 6, 7, 8, 9, respectively
Week 3: groups 3, 4, 1, 2 at 6, 7, 8, 9, respectively
Week 4: groups 4, 1, 2, 3 at 6, 7, 8, 9, respectively
Repeat the same schedule for weeks 4 through 8, 8 through 12, … 18 through 24, and then week 25 week 1, no matter which teams are playing. All groups should play equally at all times provided that each team sits out every fifth week, that is, if you use the same 5 week schedule of teams five times in succession.
