Question from jehanzaib, a student:

if x is a percentage: e.g. 40%
than what does "x/(1+x)" = 29%. what is the explanation.

Hi,

Percent means per 100 so 40 is $\large \frac{40}{100} \normalsize = 0.40.$ Evaluate \[\frac{x}{1+x}\]

where $x = 0.40$ and see what you get.
