Question from JOHN, a parent:

HOW MANY ACRES OF LAND IS IN A STRIP THAT IS 5000 FOOT LONG AND 100 FEET WIDE

Hi John,

There are 43,560 square feet in an acre. The area of your stip of land is $5,000 \times 100 = 500,000$ square feet so thats

\[\frac{500000}{43560} = 11.48 \mbox{ acres.}\]
