Question from Subrahmanya:

In a square ABCD of side 6 units P, Q are mid points of BC, CD respectively. The line segments BQ, DP intersect in R then find the area of the quadrilateral ABRD using only plane geometry.

Why not use the fact that the medians of triangle BCD meet in a point that is 2/3 of the way along the median from the vertex to the midpoint of the opposite side?
