Question from vidhi, a student:

find the value of n: (1-1/2) (2-2/3) (3-3/4)...(15-15/16) = n!/16

Hi Vidhi,

I would first write each factor on the left side with a common denominator,

\[1 - \frac12 = \frac12, 2 - \frac23 = \frac43, \cdot \cdot \cdot .\]

What are the numerators of these fractions? Simplify.

I hope this helps,
Penny
