Question from Simone, a parent: 20/2 + 2 * 2^2 + 6 = 8 insert brackets to make this true |
Hi Simone,
Notice first that all the signs are positive. The fraction on the left side, $\frac{20}{2}$ is 10 and much too large to add to the remainder of terms and have a result of 8. You need to insert brackets so that the denominator is larger than 2 if you hope to reduce the value of the left side.
