



 
Hi Gloria, I would begin by putting the equation $2x  y = 9$ into the slopeintercept form $y = mx + b.$ Once it is in that form you can see the slope of the line, it is $m.$ Any line perpendicular to this line has slope $ \large \frac{1}{m}.$ The task then is to write the line with this slope and through $(1, 6).$ Penny
