Question from Justina: At 2:20 p.m. Jack is at the top of the hill and starts walking down at the exact same time that Jill, who is at the bottom of the hill, starts walking up. If they maintain the uphill speed of 2mph and downhill speed of 4mph and the distance from the bottom to the top of the hill is 1.5 mi, at what time will Jack and Jill meet? |
Hi Justina,
When Jack and Jill start walking they are 1.5 miles apart. How quickly is the distance between them decreasing? At this rate how long will it take for the distance to decrease to zero miles?
