Question from Steve:

my current slope is 6%. I want to know how many inches higher I will be at 18'
Thanks

Hi Steve,

The slope is positive so if you walk at a constant rate along the line, going in the positive X-direction you are also going upwards. In fact your Y-coordinate is increasing at 6% of the rate at which your X-coordinate is increasing. If your X-coordinate has increased by 18 feet how much has your Y-coordinate increased?
