Question from Cheri:

How many yards of soil does it take to cover 1 acre in 3 inches of soil?

Hi Cheri,

A solid region with an area of 1 acre and a depth of 1 inch has a volume of 1 acre-inch. Hence you need a volume of 3 acre-inches of soil. You can convert this to cubic yards using Kyle's Converter. Just type 3 into the Acre-inches box.
