Question from Fadely:

If 8 divided by 4/2 can be expressed as 8 X 2/4, how can 8 X 2/4 be converted back to 8 divided by 4/2?

Hi,

To express

\[\frac{8}{\frac42} \mbox{ as } 8 \times \frac24\]

I would multiply the numerator and denominator by $\large \frac24$ to get

\[\frac{8}{\frac42} = \frac{8 \times \frac24}{\frac42 \times \frac24} = \frac{8 \times \frac24}{1} = 8 \times \frac{2}{4}.\]

To express

\[8 \times \frac{2}{4} \mbox{ as } \frac{8}{\frac42}\]

I would reverse the steps above.
