Question from Jayden:

Three numbers have a sum of 45. The greatest of the 3 numbers is 2 greater than the least number. What are the numbers?

HI Jayden,

I assume the numbers are integers. If that is correct then let the least of the three numbers be $n.$ The greatest is 2 more than the least so it is $n + 2.$ What is the third number? What is their sum? Solve for $n.$

Make sure you verify your answer,
Penny
