Question from Jordan:

Janelle has some boxes that are 43cm long, 23cm wide and 18cm tall. She wants to store them in a closet in her basement that is 2.2m tall, 1.1m wide, and 0.8m deep. What is the maximum number of boxes that Janelle can possibly fit in the closet?

Hi Jordan,

I would first convert all the measurements to centimeters, for example 2.2 m is $2.2\times 100 = 220$ centimeters.

What is the volume of the closet in cubic centimeters? What is the volume of each box in cubic centimeters? What is the maximum number of boxes you could possible fit in the closet?

Write back if you need more assistance,
Penny
