Question from Maggie:

Why is a negative minus a negative a negative?

Hi Maggie,

A negative minus a negative can be positive, negative or even zero.

-3 - (-4) = -3 + 4 = 1

-6 - (-3) = -6 + 3 = -3

-5 - (-5) = -5 + 5 = 0
