Question from Mariajosé:

brian bought 98 stickers. the number of stickers per sheet was 2 times as large as the number of sheets. how many sheets did brian buy

Hi Mariajosé,

The subject line in your email to us was Guess and Check and I think that this is the best way to approach this problem. It leads to the correct answer and it helps with understanding exactly what is being asked. So guess how many sheets Brian bought.

Let's guess 20. "the number of stickers per sheet was 2 times as large as the number of sheets" so how many stickers are on each sheet? How many stickers is that in total? Is that too large, too small or just right? If it's not right try another guess.

Write back if you need more assistance,
Penny
